These two side-by-side double storey dwellings designed by Forsite Design were granted a planning permit in October 2011. The major issue we needed to address was the presentation of the dwellings to the street. With dwelling entries projecting forward of the garages, areas within the front setback dedicated for landscaping and recessive upper storeys, we were able to demonstrate to Council that the proposal had an appropriate level of connection to the street.
During the planning permit application process we also consulted with neighbours in relation to their concerns regarding potential overlooking and overshadowing of their properties.
Overall we were successful in gaining a permit for a development that represents a suitable infill development on a site located in the City of Kingston’s Increased Housing Diversity Area.
